Book Release: Obsidior | A New Sci-Fi Mystery Inspired by Dead Space & Doctor Who
Okay, everybody! Here's the release of Obsidior. Probably many of you don't know about it yet, well, of course not, because I just started blogging. So here's my new book: a standalone novelette at 136 pages.
The story follows a young pilot in the year 4,065, working as a salvager in the emptiness of space. Joseph Young works for a salvage company, but he's out there alone with his AGI companion, ALICE - 0.9, no crew, because he doesn't even have the money to pay for one.
I was really inspired by many of my favorite space stories. This isn't a big horror, it's a little scary, with some unsettling moments, but it's more of a Lovecraftian mystery than anything else. My favorite inspiration was Dead Space, not in the sense of horror genre, but the beauty of space that they captured. That's what really got me to love the space genre. (I'm talking about the first one, before the remaster, though that was awesome too.) I also drew from Doctor Who's "Midnight" episode. I loved how those creators were able to build tension and create something genuinely frightening.
For some people, this could be scary, so I've included a general content warning like I've seen other authors do. That said, it's suitable for YA readers, 16 to 18 years old. It's not that intense, it's easy to read, and honestly, it's fun.
I invite all of you to read it! It's available now on Amazon KDP, like all my books, both as an e-book and paperback. I'm also planning to release it on Google Books soon, so hopefully that will be interesting for you as well.
Thank you all for your patience, and I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to write in the comments if you've read it or if you have questions. I'm always happy to answer, though of course, I won't do any spoilers or take away the mystery of the story. Just my thoughts, maybe.
