Presentation of Douglas R. Marley (Me)

 

Hello everyone! I'm happy to introduce myself for my blog. My name is Douglas R. Marley, or just call me Douglas or Marley.

To tell you a bit about myself: I'm a self-published author. I write books and stories, and honestly, I'm passionate about storytelling. My favorite genres span quite a spectrum, sometimes horror, sometimes fantasy, dark fantasy, and even romance. I've written many short stories and novellas. Series are rarer for me, though I'm starting to work on that. But what I really love is just telling stories.

I love how stories create an escape, a room of comfort. Maybe we're all a bit introverted in that way. But I really love stories because they bring people together, and they create a safe zone. For me, it's always been like that.

I can't deny that as a child, my favorites were Detective Conan and Pokémon. I was completely engulfed in the stories and the lore. Of course, I was touched by other stories too, Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Arrow, and later Iron Man and Hulk (more Hulk than Iron Man, for sure). I fell in love with these stories because they brought me comfort when I needed it.

That's what I'd like to do for everyone else too, share my stories. I hope you'll love them and that I can bring you the same feeling I felt when I read my favorite books. My all-time favorite is the Sherlock Holmes series, of course. I also loved Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Yeah, I'm just smiling big thinking about those books right now.
