What art is good for Books?
Hey everybody. So it's been a couple of days since the last blog, and I wanted to share something with you all. I was trying to figure out some art styles on my own, rather than always asking my wife to do everything, because she's already doing a lot. Honestly, she's doing wonderful work, and she's still working on the cover for the next book. It's taking a long time to edit, but that's perfectly fine.
So I'm trying out art styles myself. I'm not really good with art, especially when it comes to linear work. I have a hard time when there are too many elements in one image. So I tried something really interesting, and maybe it's not conventional for books and all that, but I wanted to give it a shot.
Today I did some drawings, and one of them was one of my favorite Pokémons: Charmander. But I did this one differently. With all the Pokémon evolutions and the crazy variety out there, I wanted to imagine Charmander as a different type. So here's Charmander Chroma. Charmander Chroma is a Steel and Fire type, not a Ghost type, just to be clear on that.
I also wanted to share my tryout of paper cuts as an art style, and honestly, it makes things a lot easier for me. I actually love it. It keeps me more engaged with the art and the craft of it, which means a lot.
This was just a small mention blog, a little happy moment I wanted to share. It's not a big event, but for me it really is. I hope you enjoy it, and I will talk about another topic in my next post.
